Found in Translation

A personal project done as a part of the 100 Days Project where I aimed to illustrate words found in foreign languages that cannot be Anglicised word for word. All the words were found in Adam Jacot de Boinod's books. Even though this project is old, this project is dear to my heart as it still continue to touch the life of many. I’ve had letters from teachers around the world using these illustrations in their classroom to explain how emotions are understood differently across cultures.

This project went viral in 2014 and was featured in various digital outlets such as BBC Culture, The Huffington Post and Modern Met to name a few.

This project was also part of first time exhibiting in an art exhibition.
