Who I am:

I’m a design generalist (multi-disciplinary designer, illustrator, animator, video editor, project & studio manager) based in Tāmaki Makaurau, Aotearoa. I’m professionally trained in visual communication, animation, illustration, and digital design. My work focuses on problem-solving by being deeply strategic, adaptable, and collaborative.

Over the last 14 years, I’ve collaborated and led teams through a range of work including, illustrations for editorial pieces, reports, pitch decks for agencies and investors, POS, publications, newsprint advertising, packaging, animated content for social media, digital billboards,  online collateral, event signage, digital banner ads, co-branded client promotions, presentations, and brand campaigns.

A little bit about my personal life - I was born and raised in Mumbai. I grew up with a love of science, 80’s music, and traveling, surrounded by a strong supportive set of women including my mother, telling me there isn’t anything I can’t achieve if I set my heart to it. I studied Engineering while I was in India and when it was time to enter the workforce, I realized my heart was set on design even though science will always be a lifelong passion and so I moved to Aotearoa in 2011 to pursue my calling.

My values and dreams:

I’m a lifelong learner and an intersectional feminist with a strong passion for ‘Design for Social Impact’. In my work, I want to use my voice and my leadership to make the design space in Aotearoa more diverse and inclusive.  I want to continue creating more art to educate and do more purpose-driven design to highlight the work of BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ community, raise mental health awareness, and encourage the next generation to pursue more STEM-based careers. My dream is to see the wage gap disappear in my lifetime.

Things that are bringing me joy currently:

  1. Host and volunteer helping build and nurture the creative community in Tāmaki Makarau at Creative Mornings Auckland

  2. Interviewing and writing about women and non-binary folks across Aotearoa to celebrate their stories at Storyo

  3. Learning more about the Start-up Ecosystem in Australia/NZ through the Women’s Fellowship (Spring Fellow ‘22) at Startmate.

  4. Embracing my Indian culture through cooking and running a vegan/vegetarian street food pop-up with my husband at Mumbaikars & Co.
